DIY Kitsch Inspired Hair Ties

Are we really four days into October already? It feels like the seasons have changed over night at my house. I’m doing good this year, I’ve already got Liam’s costume and even a few spooky decorations hung. Yay me!

Anyway. I’ve been seeing these awesome elastic hair ties all over the place, they supposedly are the BEST an never pull or tug on your hair. I even browsed around for them but they ended up being over $20 per pack. Then, last month’s Birch Box came and it had one in it so I couldn’t be happier to try it out… I haven’t stopped using them since! I remembered a big bunch of pretty color elastic that I have stashed away in my craft stuff, once I finally found it, I spent about 10 minutes making this bright and colorful set. This is a totally easy a fun project, you could even grab the kiddos and have them help out.

Supplies: Pretty Elastic + Scissors. I also used a cutting mat for cutting and for measuring.

1. Cut elastic into 9 or 10 inch pieces

2. Fold elastic so one end is looped

3. Knot the loose ends and pull tight.

4. Wear your new OUCHLESS hair ties!

BIRCHBOX | August {Beauty School}

I’ve been wanting to subscribe to a monthly subscription box for some time now but it was hard for me to pick one; there are so many cool ones out there. Instant eye liner tape isn’t something I would normally purchase because I don’t wear thick eye liner but I could definitely use them for Halloween or some other dress up occasion. There was also a Schick Hydro Silk Razor, I’ve had these before and absolutely love them!

[Stainiac- The Balm lip & cheek tint]

Okay, friends. Let’s talk about the Stainiac. It’s thebalm.com I have purchased a few other lip stains in the past but I didn’t like how they felt when they dried. This is totally different. It’s moist and even sparkles a little. It’s also not as RED as you may think. It’s very flattering. You can also use it on your cheeks as blush! How cool!

I’m not a fan of thick balmy cream like this but I’m sure it will come in handy this Winter.

[Viva La Juicy- La Fleur]

I saved the best for last. This stuff is SOOO yummy. I ‘ve already told Daniel that I want it for Christmas. It says that the scent was inspired by the blushing aura of being in love. I know one thing, I’m in love…. with Birchbox! Check it out and get yourself a subscription!
