DIY Kitsch Inspired Hair Ties

Are we really four days into October already? It feels like the seasons have changed over night at my house. I’m doing good this year, I’ve already got Liam’s costume and even a few spooky decorations hung. Yay me!

Anyway. I’ve been seeing these awesome elastic hair ties all over the place, they supposedly are the BEST an never pull or tug on your hair. I even browsed around for them but they ended up being over $20 per pack. Then, last month’s Birch Box came and it had one in it so I couldn’t be happier to try it out… I haven’t stopped using them since! I remembered a big bunch of pretty color elastic that I have stashed away in my craft stuff, once I finally found it, I spent about 10 minutes making this bright and colorful set. This is a totally easy a fun project, you could even grab the kiddos and have them help out.

supplies

Supplies: Pretty Elastic + Scissors. I also used a cutting mat for cutting and for measuring.

1. Cut elastic into 9 or 10 inch pieces

2. Fold elastic so one end is looped

3. Knot the loose ends and pull tight.

4. Wear your new OUCHLESS hair ties!

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. If you haven’t noticed.. things are picking up quite a bit here on SewCal Mama.

I want to thank all of my amazing and inspiring readers! I truly enjoy the blogging community and all of the awesome people that I’ve connected with so far!

  1. So cute. And simple! I might have to give this a try. I pull my hair back most of the time chasing my toddler around the house haha. Also, I'm loving the new blog look :)

  2. Love the DIY, I checked Kitsch's website and they actually have a great deal on their ties, a five pack for only $9.99 plus they have a 10% coupon code: "golden 10"

Here's the link if anyone's interested, it's easier for me just to buy them online. www.mykitsch.com/hair-ties/
